Collection: Tony's Photos

I have always loved taking photos.
30 years ago- or more actually, I'm 54 now...
For my 21st I was lucky to get a decent 35mm film camera, a Chinon, which was made by Pentax for Dixons.

I went on to buy several lenses and filter kits etc and loved taking images and waiting, weeks sometimes to see how good or bad they were!

I also delved into digital when I was married and we went out for trips or on holidays with the family, but we rarely printed any of them and I don't even know where they are stored...

I was like most of us, really into using my phone, they have really good cameras these days, basically an iPhone or a Samsung etc are all really good, often having up to a  40mp lenses and I chose a Huawei Pro as it has a Leica lens and some of my snaps with it are really good.

They tend to work best online, but I am now looking at actual prints.

In #lockdown I got my small Self Employed Allowance, it was only £400 or so, and I thought, hmmmm should I save it and eke it out as time passes when I can't work?

I nearly just put it into my bank and forgot about it. But, at about this time in July, I was contacted by a friend on FB who is a keen photographer and nature lover, they asked if I was able to go out and join them taking photos in a park near where they lived and I thought, well, as long as we are outdoors, stay 2 metres apart etc we should be fine and off we went...

We have had several trips now to wonderful places to take pictures and the idea now is to use our social media and point it here to somewhere you can see stuff and then decide if you want to pay a little to download an image or order a postcard or a print.

Please keep coming back to check this as we are working on prices for all the things we can offer and it will take a little while.

Initially I bought a great Fuji DSLR from a friend who sadly just can't get out and use it any more and then when I got my Grant I started looking at what could I buy that allowed me more flexibility, ie to use my lenses!

So, as I found out my old Pentax lenses would work on a new DSLR- needs a little tweaking in settings, but can be done.

I searched and found a fab deal on a  Pentax K70, I actually got a tripod, a bag and a lens and camera for £399 and it was merely a factory repack, the RRP is over £599!

I was so lucky. It takes a little effort to learn the way round the settings and I have had as many really bad shots as good ones, but I do hope you like what you see.

I'd like to support a good cause too, so IF you even just like my pictures and feel that seeing them is worth even a little I am asking for a 50p (or more if you want) donation which I will pass onto the Plaza Cinema Trust here in Crosby where I live.

I think there maybe a standard way of downloading or me emailing individual 'hi res' images maybe a simple start.

I think £1.99 for a full resolution image is fair. I'll donate 50p per each one to the Plaza too...

I think standard 6x4 Postcard sized art prints are likely to be £4.99 Printed on 260gsm glossy or matte photo paper, just say which you prefer.

And we are looking at folded cards too...

Then 10x8 and 16x12 prints too.
A few images may work as canvasses too.

Keep coming back and maybe donate to the Plaza through me or their own site.
