With a little help from my friends
As we are from Liverpool... it seems like we will Beat All with this Idea...
It just needs a Little Help from My Friends and then we will have a Paperback Writer and Help!
So, one of the local schools, Freshfield Primary wanted a WBD event, it snowed... we postponed...
Then they suggested this...
They would let the children come back to school at 5pm and 6pm for a special Bedtime Story Session...
They hired lovely lit TeePees and loads of throw cushions, kids were in onesies and jimjams and staff too...
We had over 50 at both sessions
My friends Joseph Delaney read from his new book Aberrations and Sally-Anne and i did our Monkey/Tiger Storytelling in costumes routine
It was immense fun, all enjoyed and we sold a fair few books.
So, as I can only possibly get Arts Funding for Extra Curricular Activities, despite a real need for my input as a supply teacher basically...
The three of us as a group are looking at applying and offering these sessions to schools and libraries...
Evenings and Saturdays...
I think it has huge potential and if funded would cover PR, discounting books and any out of pocket expenses.
